Today’s I want to discuss about the normal ways that I do when installing wordpress for a new site as I like to install all what I need in one shot, so I can save up my day :D
What I do normally are:

Install fresh wordpress

Its a normal installation for bloggers. Either using cpanel or fresh install. If you know how to use ftp and your mysql database, i prefered

Install new themes

Normally i look a theme that suitable for the blog concept. For example if i want to create a blog that focusing on advertising, i would search for a theme that have big space at sidebar as i can add ads banner for example, lot easier. Its makes your blog look more professional even using free template. I also could not afford a customize theme, well the money is for other things ;) Normally i install  theme before plugin cause some plugin does not functioning well in some themes. A good theme should support any plugin and should have no problem.

install wordpress plugins.

The first plugins that i would like to install is any SEO plugins such as All SEO pack and Google sitemap. You also can check other plugins that i used at this blog here. (sorry, no english translation for this post yet). And don’t forget to activate akismet plugin, if you don’t want your blog full of spams. (i hate spammers!)

Setting Options

After the plugin installations, i just setting all the options such as how many post per page, all seo pack and google sitemap setting, comments setting, etc. Make sure you setting up those plugins you have install to maximize the usage, or else it would be useless.

Other considerations

If i think that blog should integrate with youtube videos, i will install youtube fav script that i bought (if you want it, you can contact me but its the limited version, not a pro version which means it will only display 3 pages). Also if your blog discussing about books or something else, you could join amazon associates and setup astore that will sells books from amazon. Also you should consider to have openads to manage your blog advertisement.

Conclusion

What can i say is every blog needs different needs and readers. So knowing your blog purpose will help you to indentify what plugins and also add on to your blog.
